A City Council goal and priority is to improve communications
with the community by providing information to citizens. The City Council shares
information with citizens through the City newsletter, Government Comment
Corner, Citizen Attitude Survey, and neighborhood meetings.
- Communications
Plan. The City Council adopted a Comprehensive Communications Plan
for the City organization. The Plan is a strategic approachto communicating
with the community, as well as an analysis of various communications methods
and needs, and a three-year action plan. Copies of the first and second annual
Communications Plan reports are also available through this link.
- Public Records Requests - The City recently adopted an Administrative
Policy establishing a procedure for accepting and responding to public records
requests and establishing a uniform fee schedule for providing public records.

- Citizen
Attitude Survey Each year, the City conducts a Citizen Attitude Survey
with approximately 1,200 randomly selected registered voters. The results
assist the Council and the Budget Commission in prioritizing programs and
services and in determining allocation of City resources. Survey results are
published as a special insert in the February publication of "the City."
- Government Comment Corner. Citizens interested in talking to a City
Councilor, a Benton County official, or a member of the 509J School Board
may take advantage of the Government Comment Corner, held most Saturdays from
10 am to 12 noon at the Library, 645 NW Monroe. A different member from the
City, County, or School District is available on an informal basis to answer
questions or address issues concerning local government.
- Ward Meetings. Ward meetings are designed to provide
comfortable forums for residents within each Ward to discuss ward-specific and city-wide issues with City
Councilors and City staff. Most departments and the City Manager's Office are represented at each meeting. For the past few years, ward meetings have been held in different wards at six to eight week intervals with the goal
of having at least one meeting in each ward over the two-year Council term.
- The
City. This is a monthly publication to inform residents about
City services, programs, activities, and opportunities for participation.
- City
Flag. City flags are available for sale! Click on the link to the
