Mission Statement:


The City Manager's Office provides leadership, coordination, and management for
the affairs of the City to ensure effective community service.


The Governance Division supports the Mayor and Council; implements City Council decisions and goals; facilitates implementation of the Corvallis 2020 Vision Statement; provides organization-wide administration, management, and evaluation; pursues intergovernmental relations and partnerships; promotes and sustains excellent community relationships and communications; facilitates public outreach and communications; oversees the budget and capital improvement program; oversees City Attorney contract services; manages the City's official records, conducts municipal elections, and monitors legislative activities.

The Human Resources Division promotes positive labor-management relations; motivates and develops employees, ensures internal and external equity in job classification and compensation practices; uses a fair and inclusive process to recruit and select employees; processes accurate, cost-effective, and timely benefits; ensures accuracy and appropriate access to personnel records; provides administrative support to the Commission for Martin Luther King, Jr.; maintains progressive personnel policies; and supports departments and their employees. The Human Resources Division also coordinates Risk Management functions, including protecting the City's assets; purchasing appropriate insurance and providing adequate reserves for uninsured losses; increasing safety awareness; providing safety training opportunities for employees; providing for urgent safety equipment needs; and supporting departments in their risk management and safety efforts.
